Perplexity

Perplexity is a research-focused AI agent. Use it if you want AI-driven market research combined with trading execution.

Prerequisites

• Perplexity account (https://perplexity.ai)
• Your FIX credentials (see Before You Start

Method 1: OAuth

Step 1: Go to Settings

1. Open Perplexity
2. Go to Settings > MCP Connectors (or similar)
3. Click Add Custom Remote Connector

Step 2: Enter Server Details

1. Connector Name: Axiory.ai
2. Server URL: https://mcp.axiory.ai/mcp
3. Authentication: Select OAuth 2.0
4. Click Add

Step 3: Complete OAuth

A browser opens with the FIX credentials form:

1. Select your broker server
2. Enter your SenderCompID (from cTrader Settings > FIX API)
3. Enter your FIX API Password (NOT your cTrader login password)
4. Set trading mode (readonly/paper/live)
5. Click Connect

You’ll see “Connected Successfully”.

Step 4: Test Connection

In Perplexity, ask:

“Are you connected to cTrader? Show me my positions and recent trades.”

Perplexity should respond with your account status and trade history.

Method 2: Portal Token (Fallback)

If OAuth doesn’t work:

Step 1: Generate a Token

Visit in your browser:

https://mcp.axiory.ai/token-portal

1. Select your broker server
2. Enter your FIX credentials
3. Choose trading mode
4. Click Generate Token
5. Copy the token

Step 2: Add Server with Token

In Perplexity:

1. Go to Settings > MCP Connectors
2. Click Add Custom Remote Connector
3. Connector Name: Axiory.ai
4. Server URL: https://mcp.axiory.ai/mcp
5. Authentication: Select API Key
6. API Key: Paste your token from the Token Portal
7. Click Add

Step 3: Test Connection

In Perplexity, ask:

“Can you check my cTrader account status?”

Using Perplexity for Trading Research + Execution

Perplexity excels at combining research with trading:

Search the web for latest Fed interest rate expectations,
then tell me how that might affect EURUSD.
Finally, if you think EURUSD will move higher, place a buy order for 50,000 units.

Perplexity can:

• Search for news and economic indicators
• Analyze market sentiment
• Place orders based on its research

Making Your First Trade

In Perplexity:

“What’s the current EURUSD price and recent price action? Based on that, should I buy or sell? If you think I should buy, place a buy order for 100,000 units at the current market price.”

Perplexity will:

1. Fetch market data
2. Provide analysis
3. Execute the trade (or simulate in paper mode)

Token Rotation

Portal tokens expire after 30 days. Before expiry:

1. Visit the Token Portal
2. Generate a new token
3. In Perplexity, update the connector with the new token
4. Restart Perplexity

If your token expires, you’ll see “401 Unauthorized”. Generate a new one.

Troubleshooting

”Server connection failed”

Check:

1. Server URL is correct: https://mcp.axiory.ai/mcp
2. Your FIX credentials are valid
3. Try clicking Test Connection

”Invalid credentials” in the OAuth form

Your FIX credentials are wrong:

1. Go to cTrader Settings > FIX API
2. Copy SenderCompID exactly (with all dots and numbers)
3. Copy FIX API Password exactly (NOT your login password)
4. Retry OAuth or regenerate a Portal Token

”401 Unauthorized” (Portal Token)

Your token has expired:

1. Generate a new one at the Token Portal
2. Update the connector in Perplexity settings
3. Test the connection

Safety Tips

• Test in paper mode first before using live
• Verify Perplexity’s analysis before acting on it
• Set conservative risk limits (position size, daily loss)
• Monitor positions regularly — don’t rely solely on automation
